Heating element insulation fault
Fan, grill or conventional heating elements can develop leakage to earth. Some faults only become apparent as the element heats.
If your oven trips an RCD, RCBO or circuit breaker when switched on, when a particular function is selected, or only after it gets hot, PrimeFix can diagnose the fault and advise on the right repair.
The exact point at which the trip occurs matters. A fault that appears immediately can have a different cause from one that only develops after the oven has heated for several minutes.
Fan, grill or conventional heating elements can develop leakage to earth. Some faults only become apparent as the element heats.
A motor can develop an electrical insulation fault or fail as temperature rises, particularly if the trip is linked to a fan-assisted function.
Heat-damaged wiring, loose terminals or deteriorated connectors can create intermittent or temperature-related electrical faults.
Moisture ingress, thermostats, selectors, lamps, cooling fans or other electrical parts can also be responsible and need systematic testing.
Do not keep resetting the protective device to see whether the fault clears. Note which oven, function and temperature were selected, and roughly how long the appliance had been running before it tripped. That information can help narrow down the fault during diagnosis.
Was it fan oven, grill, conventional heat, top oven or another setting?
Immediately, after a few minutes, at a certain temperature, or only once the appliance is already hot?
Internal insulation and earth-leakage testing should be carried out with the correct equipment and the appliance safely isolated.
PrimeFix works through the likely causes rather than replacing parts based only on the symptom. Where appropriate, diagnosis can include element, motor, wiring and control checks to identify what is actually causing the electrical protection to operate.
We use the symptoms and electrical checks to narrow down the failed component or circuit.
Once identified, we explain the repair route before unnecessary parts are fitted.
If repair is not sensible, PrimeFix can also help with replacement appliance installation and removal.
PrimeFix can support the full next step after diagnosis.
